Custom Knit Letter Sweater - Fraternity Sweater

Fraternity Sweater. Custom designed and hand knitted just for you in your choice of 49 beautiful colors, the Fraternity Sweater can be designed in the colors of your college or university, your fraternity or sorority. What could be more ivy league than a classic sweater like this one, with its traditional stripes on the sleeves, deep double pockets and letter knitted right into the design? Yet, if you look closely, you will see that the Fraternity Sweater has been updated for a more contemporary flair than the traditional ivy league look of the Letter Sweater.

Note the extra long, fingertip length (also called "tunic" length). The pockets are placed lower than usual, while the shape of the v-neck has dramatic extra depth. The Fraternity Sweater has its buttonholes on the left-hand side, the side usually reserved for a man's sweater, to give the appearance of fine menswear. Hemmed at the bottom edge, the Fraternity Sweater is comfortable and easy-to-wear, knitted from pure 100% cotton and built to last for many years. The sleeves have deeply ribbed cuffs, to roll up if you like, or to wear straight. Machine wash/dry.

The design was originally done at the request of a woman who wanted a letterman sweater which looked like a man's sweater, but would fit her properly, not oversized or baggy, sized to fit a woman's figure.

Absolutely, the Fraternity Sweater is suitable for men as well as for women - the design can easily be adjusted for a man. See below for ordering options. For ladies, there are two choices for length, "finger-tip" length, as shown in the photos, or standard length. For men, the sweater will be standard length.

The Fraternity Sweater shown above is knitted in 100% pure cotton, using black for the main color and tangerine and pure white for the colors for the stripes on the sleeves. Unlike the traditional Letter Sweater, the Fraternity Sweater has two pockets and stripes on both sleeves, using stripes in two different colors. The letter "E" shown on this example sweater has a pure white, hand embroidered border around the letter.
