Custom Design Sweater Studio Store Policies
Methods of payment: MasterCard, Visa, Discover and American Express are accepted, as well as personal checks, money orders and PayPal. Kindly note that all checks and money orders must clear my checking account for the order to be final. International customers may be required to pay by PayPal, depending on the country.
How to pay: half now, half later: A fifty percent (50%) deposit is due when the order is placed. The remaining fifty percent (50%) of the total price plus the shipping/handling will be due later on, when the order is actually being knitted. Before I am ready to begin work on your order, I will send you an email. Payment must be received before work begins.
Here's how it works
If you are paying by credit card: your credit card will be charged for the deposit, which is one half of the total price, at the time the order is placed; your email confirmation will contain an acknowledgement of your payment. Later, when it is time to begin work on your custom design, I will send you an email to let you know it's time for the second half of the total price, plus the shipping/handling.
If you are paying by PayPal: you will receive a PayPal invoice for the deposit of one half of the total price. To complete placing the order, click on the link within the invoice. When I have received your PayPal deposit, I will send you an acknowledgement. Later, before it is time to begin work on your custom design, I will send you a second invoice, along with an email to let you know it's time to pay the balance due.
If you are paying by personal check or money order: you will receive an email containing instructions on how to send the personal check or money order for your deposit to Custom Design Sweater Studio. There will be a $35.00 fee for bouncing a check, which is what my bank charges me. Please don't bounce a check. Your funds must clear my bank accocunt before your order is complete. Later, before it is time to begin work on your custom design, I will send you an email to let you know that it's time to send the check for the balance due. Your funds must clear my bank account before work will begin on your order.
Changes to your order or cancellations: Orders can be changed or cancelled up to and including ten (10) days from the day on which the order was placed, for a full refund of your deposit. After that, there will be no changes, cancellations or refunds. If you would like to cancel your order for any reason whatsoever during the initial 10-day period, please email me or give me a call toll free at 1-888-797-1088, and I will give you a confirmation number for the cancellation. Please do not ask for an exception to the cancellation policy after the initial ten days have passed.
Changes to your contact information: If your email address, home address or telephone number changes, please make sure that I have the updated information. When it is time to begin, I will make three diligent attempts to reach you by email and/or telephone, but if I am unable to contact you, your order will be placed on hold. After six months from the date of the last attempt to reach you, your deposit will be forfeited.
Returns or refunds: When you order a custom knitted sweater, you are engaging the time, talent, skill and creativity of your designer. Each custom designed garment is different and unique, requiring hours of careful planning, designing and knitting. For this reason, there will be no returns or refunds on any custom knitted garments.
By placing your order, you are acknowledging that you have read these store policies and understand them, and that you agree to respect them.
Delivery time frame: Wait times are approximately eight weeks from the time the order is placed, but can vary according to my schedule, especially during the holiday season. Your order confirmaton will include the delivery time for your new custom design sweater.
Additional charges for custom designing: If you decide to make extensive changes to a sweater which is nearly finished, please understand that I may charge an additional $25.00 per hour for the time spent re-knitting your design in order to implement your changes. I will discuss this with you before making any additional charges.
Shipping and Handling
Shipping and handling: Shipping and handling fees continue to go up and up, all over the country. I've done my best to hold the line, and to charge reasonable and fair fees for sending your order to you. All packages will be sent by USPS Priority Mail, 2-3 day service, unless you request otherwise. Overnight delivery is also available, if you are in a hurry.
Purchasing your own color cards: Unless we have decided otherwise, your custom design will be knitted from 100% pure cotton yarn, a beautiful medium weight yarn which is comfortable year-round and can be machine washed. A full set of color cards for the 100% pure cotton yarn is available if you want to compare colors and see the quality and weight of the yarn which will be used. This is a very good idea, if you'd like to take the color cards into your closet and compare the colors to your existing wardrobe. Take a look at the yarn colors; purchase your own full set of color cards.
Choosing the right size: Information regarding each size, such as length, chest width, shoulder width and sleeve length, is available on the page "Size/Price Information". If you need more precise measurements, such as the width and depth of a particular neckline or the shoulder drop of a sweater, please ask me. I will be glad to email the measurements to you, or discuss it with you over the phone.
